Geospatial & Climate Intern - Agriculture

The Programme

The Geospatial & Climate Intern reports to the Project Manager.

This role involves supporting the planning, roll-out, and management of professional service projects in the space of nature-based solutions. Development of digital tools and process automation, especially in the fields of GHG accounting and geospatial analysis will be a focus.

The Intern shall support an engagement with a client and partners after contracting and deliver value in excellent quality, on time, and on budget. 

The Intern is expected to contribute to the use, improvement, and development of technical templates and processes. Inputs on Project Management workflow, team & capacity building, as well as strategic partnership in Research & Development, are also part of the job.

A strong focus lies on developing projects to able access climate & green finance, through carbon markets and other mechanisms. Understanding of land use GHG accounting must be present or have a strong basis and will to learn. 

Excellent use of statistics, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required professional communication in English.

In the beginning, the position can be part-time and hybrid, including days in the office and days working from home. These arrangements can be adapted later.

Location: Bali or Greater Jakarta area. 
 
Contract period: Paid internship 3-6 months with potential for extension as employee.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Indonesian passport. 
  • Willing to be based in Bali or Greater Jakarta Area. 
  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English and Indonesian language. 
  • Fresh Graduate with good grades from a high-quality university in fields of geomatic, geography, forestry, biology, agronomy, environmental science, engineering, mathematics, data science, or related field. 
  • Advanced user in Geographic Information Systems and geospatial analysis. 
  • Experience in coding automation in Python, R, Java, C+, or similar. 
  • Excellent skills in statistics, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. 
  • Beneficial: Exposure to building routines with AI. 
  • Beneficial: Land Use GHG accounting. 
  • Beneficial: Experience in project management beyond Indonesia. 
  • Potential to be extended.

Benefits & Work Condition:

The Internship is paid. Travel to relocate to the office location in Bali can be covered. A housing allowance can be discussed.

The candidate may be based out of Bali with some working days per week in ReClima Tech’s Bali, Sanur office, or the greater Jakarta area.
