Housekeeping Trainee - Finance/Economics

The Programme

The Housekeeping Intern duty is to see that given tasks are carried out in line with service standards while comprehending the brand and product to complete tasks.  
 
The Housekeeping Intern will receive daily training on all important responsibilities within the sub-divisions.  
 
The individual will collaborate closely with teammates from other departments, as well as leaders, and will have direct contact with our stakeholders. Provide cleanliness support to the Rooms Department. Ensuring that the highest level of quality service is well maintained. Ensuring that guest tents facilities are clean and immaculate as well as all public areas. Support in providing laundry service and handling outside laundry company.  
 
The Housekeeping Trainee must become a role model in the company's culture. Provide exceptional and professional levels of service to guest tents, public areas, and laundry. 
 
The Role:

Handling tent service:

  • Preparing arrival tent. 
  • Make up occupied tent. 
  • Cleaning vacant tent.

Maintain cleanliness all public areas:

  • Cleaning the back of the house (Staff Locker, All Offices, Training Room, Rest Area). 
  • Cleaning the front of the house (Camp Post, Officer Tent, Armory, Mad's Lange Restaurant, Api Jiwa Restaurant, The Cistern, All Public Rest Rooms).

Handling laundry service:

  • Receive and deliver guest's laundry. 
  • Washing, pressing and packing guest laundry. 
  • Handling outside laundry company (receiving and sending linen). 
  • Washing, pressing staff uniform.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service. 
  • Clean all assigned guest tent including dusting, making bed, soiled linen removal from the tent and retrieval of clean linen from linen room, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, Clear blind cleaning, replenish tents with supplies and amenities, checking and replenish mini bar. 
  • Maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment. 
  • Update and record all cleaned tent. 
  • Report and return all lost and found articles to housekeeping office. 
  • Follow departmental policies, procedures and service standards. 
  • Report necessary maintenance items. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • An active student that enrolled in a college or University preferably in Hotel/Hospitality Management, Finance or Economy program. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with personable character, a team player and good at cultivating strong guest relations. 
  • Very good command in spoken and written English, additional languages will be an advantage. 
  • Great attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to multitask and prioritize. 
  • Possess a great communication skill. 
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times. 
  • Flexible regarding work schedules. 
  • Highly responsible and reliable. 
  • Frequent lifting carrying up to 30 lbs. 
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders and stairs. 
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as a part of the team with minimum supervision.
