Procurement Strategic Intern

The Programme

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Strategic Intern to support our team in executing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement in our procurement processes.  
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while contributing to the company's bottom line.

What You Will Do

RFP Management:

  • Assist in the development and issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFPs). 
  • Analyze supplier responses, comparing pricing, terms, and capabilities. 
  • Support the evaluation and selection process, documenting key findings and recommendations.

Supplier Management:

  • Prequalification: Conduct initial research and screening of potential suppliers. 
  • Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring all documentation and requirements are met. 
  • Performance Evaluation: Track supplier performance against key metrics (e.g., quality, delivery, cost) and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and open communication.

Strategic Procurement Activities:

  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers, analyze industry trends, and benchmark pricing. 
  • Unit Rate Analysis: Develop and maintain accurate unit rate models to inform sourcing decisions and negotiate favorable terms. 
  • Digitalization and Transformation: Support the implementation of digital tools and technologies to streamline procurement processes and enhance data-driven decision-making.

Other Duties:

  • Assist with contract management, including reviewing terms and conditions, tracking renewals, and ensuring compliance. 
  • Participate in supplier meetings and negotiations. 
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations. 
  • Assist with other procurement-related tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 
  • Strong academic performance in relevant coursework. 
  • Preferably have interest in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills (as evidenced by academic projects, internships, or work experience). 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate ideas). 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
  • Willingness to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Conversational English proficiency is mandatory.
